Axis Wild Expeditions LLC (“AWE,” “we,” “our,” or “us”)

Welcome to Axis Wild Expeditions. By accessing our website (axiswildexpeditions.com), booking a guided trip, submitting a form, or using any services offered by AWE, you agree to the following Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, you may not use our website or book our services.

1. Overview of Services

Axis Wild Expeditions LLC provides guided wilderness experiences, including pack-supported trips, backpacking trips, and related adventure programs (“Programs”). Trip details, itineraries, pricing, and requirements are listed on our website and in booking materials.
AWE operates within public lands under applicable permits and regulations.

2. Eligibility

By using our website or booking a Program, you confirm that you:

  • Are at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent/guardian;

  • Are physically and mentally capable of participating in wilderness activities as described;

  • Will follow guide instructions and land-management regulations;

  • Will complete required forms truthfully, including medical information and waivers.

3. Booking, Payments & Deadlines

Payments are processed securely through Stripe or approved payment links provided by AWE.

  • A deposit (amount listed on each trip page) reserves your spot.

  • Full payment is due 60 days before trip departure.

  • Failure to pay by this deadline may result in forfeiture of your reservation.

Your booking is not confirmed until AWE receives your deposit or full payment and you receive a booking confirmation email.

4. Cancellation & Refund Policy

By booking a Program with Axis Wild Expeditions, you agree to the following cancellation terms:

Client Cancellations

  • 60+ days before departure:
    75% of deposit refunded or transferred to another trip in the same season.

  • 60–45 days before departure:
    50% of trip cost refunded or transferred to another trip in the same season.

  • 45 days or less before departure:
    Non-refundable and non-transferable.

Early Exits / In-Field Cancellations

Backcountry travel involves inherent uncertainty. Weather, trail conditions, wildfire, smoke, high water, health issues, or your personal ability may require withdrawing early from a Program.
No refunds or credits will be issued for unused trip days or early exits. When possible, your guide may offer an alternative route or activity.

Program Cancellation by AWE

If AWE must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances (including but not limited to government closures, natural disasters, unsafe environmental conditions, or insufficient enrollment), you may choose to:

  • Transfer to another Program,

  • Reschedule, or

  • Receive a full refund without penalty.

AWE is not responsible for any additional expenses such as airfare, hotel reservations, travel arrangements, or gear purchases.

Travel Insurance

Because wilderness programs involve unpredictable factors, AWE strongly recommends purchasing “Cancel For Any Reason” (CFAR) travel insurance.

5. Participant Responsibilities

By booking with AWE, you agree to:

  • Arrive in sufficient physical condition to complete the advertised itinerary

  • Bring required gear as outlined by AWE

  • Disclose relevant health conditions, allergies, or medications

  • Follow guide instructions and safety protocols

  • Respect wildlife, land regulations, and Leave No Trace principles

  • Act in a manner that ensures your safety and the safety of others

AWE reserves the right to remove participants from a Program if their behavior or condition endangers themselves, others, or the integrity of the trip. No refund will be issued in such cases.

6. Assumption of Risk & Liability

Backcountry travel inherently involves risk, including but not limited to: falls, altitude illness, weather events, wildlife encounters, water crossings, fatigue, injury, illness, evacuation, property damage, and death.

By booking a Program, you acknowledge these risks and agree that:

  • Participation is voluntary

  • You assume all associated risks

  • You will sign AWE’s Participant Agreement & Liability Waiver prior to participation

Failure to sign required documents will result in removal from the Program without refund.

7. Website Use & Content

All content on axiswildexpeditions.com — including text, images, graphics, branding, and logos — is the property of Axis Wild Expeditions LLC and is protected by copyright and trademark law.

You agree not to:

  • Copy, distribute, or reproduce website content without permission

  • Use our site for unlawful or harmful purposes

  • Interfere with site functionality or security

AWE may update its website, pricing, itineraries, or policies at any time.

8. Third-Party Services

Our website integrates with third-party platforms including (but not limited to):

  • Stripe — for secure payments

  • Squarespace — for website hosting, forms, and email marketing

  • Email Campaign Tools — for newsletters and communications

Your use of these services is subject to their respective policies.

9. Privacy Policy

AWE collects personal information when you submit forms, book a trip, or sign up for newsletters. This data is used to operate Programs, process payments, and communicate with you.

10. Modifications to Programs or Terms

AWE may update these Terms or adjust itineraries if conditions require.
Changes become effective when posted on this page.
Continued use of the website or participation in Programs constitutes acceptance of updates.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Any disputes arising from AWE Programs or website use shall be resolved in California courts.
