Raised among the forests and lakes of upstate New York, Michelle developed an early bond with nature that sparked a lifelong passion for wild places. Time outdoors became both refuge and teacher, shaping her belief in the natural world's ability to restore vitality, inspire wonder, and deepen our understanding of ourselves.

That passion has carried her across the globe, from the outback of Australia to the peaks of Nepal and the red rock landscapes of the American Southwest. For nearly a decade, Michelle has guided adventures throughout California's Sierra Nevada, developing an intimate familiarity with these magnificent mountains. Through years of guiding and outdoor education, she has witnessed how shared experiences in wild places cultivate resilience, confidence, trust, and camaraderie.

A seasoned naturalist, educator, and lifelong adventurer, Michelle holds a master's degree in Outdoor Leadership and Environmental Education, with a background in Psychology and Visual Arts. Her interdisciplinary approach brings together ecological knowledge, experiential learning, and an intuitive understanding of people, enriching each journey with opportunities for discovery and personal growth.

Michelle's guiding philosophy is grounded in presence, curiosity, and authentic connection. Known for her ability to read both people and landscapes, she creates a supportive environment where guests feel comfortable challenging themselves, embracing the unexpected, and finding their own rhythm in the wild.

Whether guiding sea cave kayaking adventures off the Channel Islands or leading multi-day wilderness treks through remote mountain and desert terrain, Michelle brings warmth, humor, and a genuine sense of joy to every experience. Her playful spirit is balanced by a deep reverence for wild places and an unwavering commitment to safety, stewardship, and care.
