Kerry Taylor

Wilderness / Backcountry Guide / Yoga Instructor

Kerry is an outdoor educator, expedition leader, and integrative wellness facilitator who brings a grounded, people-centered approach to adventure programming. With over a decade of experience in outdoor education, Kerry has guided students and adults through backpacking, canoeing, rock climbing, and challenge course programs while supporting meaningful learning, teamwork, and personal growth in the outdoors.

Throughout her career, Kerry has served in a wide range of leadership roles—from field instructor to course director and program coordinator. Her background includes overseeing everything from risk management and logistics to staff mentorship and curriculum development. Her strength is in facilitating experiences that are smooth and well-organized where participants feel supported, challenged, and connected to themselves, fellow participants, and nature. On the trail, Kerry brings a steady, confident presence— helping guests meet challenge with trust in themselves and the land.

What distinguishes Kerry’s guiding approach is her integration of wellness practices into backcountry experiences. As a trained yoga instructor and somatic awareness facilitator, she thoughtfully weaves breath, movement, and reflection into expedition settings—supporting resilience, presence, and self-awareness alongside technical and physical skills. These practices help guests deepen their connection to both place and self.

At Axis Wild Expeditions, Kerry is passionate about guiding guests through the Sierra Nevada in ways that feel empowering, grounded, and sustainable—creating space for meaningful moments of growth, stillness, and connection in the mountains.
